When Life gives you lemons… get your kid to make Lemon Pound Cake

As I have indicated, I’m not much of a chef. I also think re-inventing the wheel is a huge waste of time. So when I find a recipe that is awesome – I will give full credit to the person who put the effort in.

Nothing is better than a dense, moist – oh yeah – I said that – moist – you’re welcome Jillienne… haha… cake.

I’ve never been much of a fruit dessert person. Don’t get me wrong, I will eat a high quality anything that is sweet. Key point being, “high quality”.

This website, Once Upon A Chef has become a go-to for me and my Mom – I’m not actually sure who found it first. But I really had a hankering for something lemon, which is super weird because I usually only like citrus in a cocktail!

So here it is. This has been made many times and its sure not to disappoint. We actually don’t do the last glaze. Its amazing without. Also, I do not have a picture. Also, we use these Wilton pans rather than a bundt cake pan because I don’t have a bundt cake pan. Oh but make sure you use non-cook spray AND parchment paper until those little bitches are seasoned up. Or you will have a mess. Yeah – I know this from experience.

When you need something sweet with a heavy crumb and a bit of pucker – this is your next baking project. Or make your kid do it – like I do!
